The INV 201 exam is unique and is grounded in modern probability theory, it demands both advanced mathematical knowledge and deep financial intuition. This study guide was purpose-built to meet that challenge.
Because the INV 201 exam is different, this manual begins from first principles, carefully constructing the mathematical framework you need before guiding you through exam-level material. Every topic follows the official exam syllabus closely, with an emphasis on building both financial and mathematical understanding in tandem.
Inside, you'll find:
• Step-by-step concept explanations that make complex theory accessible
• Visualizations throughout to reinforce intuition where it matters most
• Worked examples integrated directly into each chapter
• Practice problems at the end of every chapter to consolidate learning
The Investment (INV) practice area was created for actuaries who want to thrive where investment decisions intersect with significant and complex liabilities. This guide is designed to prepare you for exactly that, not just to pass the INV 201 exam, but giving you the depth of understanding required not just to pass, but excel.
