Shelly Raad was born and raised in London, England. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, England and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
After receiving her PhD from UCLA, she taught mathematics at college level before becoming an actuary.
She has been a pension actuary for over 20 years. She received her EA in 2003 and her FSA in 2005. She works at a major consulting firm specializing in single employer pension plans.
